Job Opening:  Aquamation Facilitator & Driver

Life Cycle Pet Cremation, Inc. (doing business as Radiant Heart After-Care for Pets) is a woman-owned, pet-only funeral home and on-site cremation service located in Bellingham, WA. Radiant Heart provides a level of service that is uncommon in the pet cremation industry. We offer both eco-friendly water cremation and traditional flame cremation on-site at our facility in Bellingham, WA.

We are in need of a new team member to facilitate pet aquamations and pick up pets from veterinary clinics and homes.

The Aquamation Facilitator & Driver is a critical role. We are looking for someone who is physically fit and may have some experience with light industrial work.

Serious applicants must be willing to make a long-term commitment. (At least 1 year and hopefully much longer.)

No students, please. This includes graduate school candidates.

Schedule & Pay

  • $22-$24/hour
  • Minimum 24 hours/week.
  • Tue/Wed/Thur – 6:30 a.m. to early afternoon (~ 2:30 p.m. – flexible)
  • Friday ~ 9 to 5:30 (also flexible)
  • Training and all PPE provided.

Note:  The dress code for Aquamation Facilitation and Driving are quite different.  Change of clothes will be required.  Clean uniform tops will be provided for driving.

Key tasks:

  • Load pets into cradles, and load cradles into Bio-Response PET550 aquamation machine
  • Calculate and measure required chemicals (alkali, d-liomonene, H2O2)
  • Remove cremated remains and prepare them for drying
  • Maintain a clean workspace
  • Assist other staff members with work items including (but not limited to) grinding cremated remains.
  • Drive company vehicle to pick up pets in a respectful manner from veterinary clinics and homes.

Required:

 

  • Works well in a team environment
  • Follows all safety requirements
  • Able to lift an 80 lb. pet from the bottom of a chest-style freezer.
  • Tall enough to reach over and into the PET550 (at least 5’ 5” tall)
  • Comfortable working with bio-hazards (blood, urine, feces, etc.), chemicals (bleach, alkali, etc.), dust (bone and polymer clay), and both cold and hot temperatures.
  • Clean criminal background check
  • Clean driving background
  • High school diploma
  • Good organizational skills
  • Must love pets and understand the importance/significance of respecting the body of a pet
  • Proficiency in English but English does not need to be an applicant’s first or primary language

Preferred:

  • Experience with light industrial machinery
  • Professional experience working with pets, pet parents, and/or veterinary professionals
